Pendidikan Karakter Menyeluruh pada 2014

Bogor — Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional telah menyusun desain besar pendidikan karakter bangsa. Konsep ini akan segera diimplementasikan pada tingkat satuan pendidikan. Ditargetkan, seluruh satuan pendidikan telah mengembangkan pendidikan karakter bangsa pada 2014.
“Pusat kurikulum sampai saat ini sudah membentuk master trainer yang diharapkan melatih para guru, kepala sekolah, dan pengawas untuk bisa menghidupkan atau menjadi pionir pendidikan karakter bangsa di satuan pendidikan,” kata Kepala Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Kabalitbang) Kemdiknas Mansyur Ramli pada Seminar Nasional Pendidikan Karakter Bangsa di Hotel Novotel, Bogor, Jawa Barat, Jumat (27/08).
Hadir pada acara Direktur Jenderal Peningkatan Mutu Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Baedhowi, Direktur Jenderal Manajemen Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah Suyanto, dan Kepala Pusat di lingkungan Balitbang Kemdiknas.
Tema seminar adalah “Strategi dan Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Bangsa pada Satuan Pendidikan”. Seminar yang berlangsung mulai 27-29 Agustus 2010 ini diikuti 156 peserta terdiri atas anggota Komisi X DPR RI, rektor perguruan tinggi negeri dan swasta, kepala dinas pendidikan provinsi/kabupaten/kota, dan para praktisi pendidikan.
Mansyur optimistis pendidikan karakter dapat segera diimplementasikan pada satuan pendidikan. Sekurang-kurangnya, 25 persen satuan pendidikan mulai menerapkan pada 2012. “Sudah banyak satuan pendidikan, perguruan tinggi, berbagai tokoh masyarakat, dan pemerhati pendidikan yang sudah mengembangkan karakter bangsa melalui pendidikan baik pendidikan formal maupun pendidikan nonformal,” ujarnya.
Lebih lanjut Mansyur menyampaikan, hampir semua perguruan tinggi telah mengembangkan pendidikan karakter bangsa. Berbagai satuan pendidikan, kata dia, juga telah menerapkan pendidikan karakter bangsa dengan bermacam cara seperti kantin kejujuran di sekolah, melalui nilai-nilai keagamaan dan budaya. “Dengan potret yang kita lakukan kita optimis. Tinggal mendorong dan menularkan apa yang telah dikembangkan satuan pendidikan tertentu dan masyarakat,” katanya.
Sekretaris Balitbang Kemdiknas Siskandar menyampaikan, seminar ini dimaksudkan untuk mendiskusikan dan berbagi pengalaman tentang strategi dan implementasi pendidikan karakter bangsa. Adapun tujuannya adalah untuk menghimpun bahan masukan terkait dengan strategi dan implementasi pendidikan karakter bangsa, dalam satu kesatuan sistem pendidikan nasional yang holistis. “Tujuan lainnya adalah untuk menyusun rekomendasi tentang strategi pembelajaran dan implementasi pendidikan karakter bangsa dalam satu kesatuan sistem pendidikan,” katanya.
Siskandar menyebutkan, seminar dibagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu sidang pleno dan komisi-komisi. Sebanyak enam komisi yang akan mendiskusikan strategi dan implementasi pendidikan karakter masing-masing pada jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini, sekolah dasar, sekolah menengah pertama, sekolah menengah atas/sekolah menengah kejuruan, perguruan tinggi, dan masyarakat.
