Kamus Pintar Sejarah Dunia karya Mi’raj Dodi K. terbit cetakan pertama tahun 2011 dalam kisaran 200 halaman oleh penerbit Dahara Prize, Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Di dalamnya memuat beberapa hal: nama-nama tokoh yang berpengaruh dalam sejarah, peristiwa-peristiwa penting yang terukir dalam sejarah, serta istilah-istilah yang kerap muncul dalam studi sejarah, baik sejarah nasional maupun internasional.
Pencarian aneka konsep kesejarahannya pun praktis, tinggal merunut secara alfabetik materi kesejarahan apa yang dicari. Menambah khazanah pengetahuan kesejarahan se- hingga memperluas wawasan khalayak pembaca merupakan satu tujuan penerbitannya. Selain itu, semoga dengan hadirnya buku ini, lalu dibaca berbagai pihak, semakin me- ngukuhkan kesadaran sejarah kemanusiaan kita.
Dengan medium buku ini, semoga para pelajar pun terbantu dalam proses membuat tugas-tugas studi sejarah serta termotivasi untuk memahami konsep-konsep dan fakta sejarah. Dengan demikian, kamus ini layak dimanfaatkan kalangan pelajar, dari tingkat dasar hingga atas, serta kalangan umum. Dalam kadar tertentu, buku ini pun dapat membantu studi mahasiswa jurusan sejarah dan mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah, serta kalangan akademis yang berminat mempelajari peristilahan kesejarahan.
Dalam bentuknya seperti sekarang, penulis mengakui beberapa kelemahan buku ini: kurang lengkap dan penjelasan beberapa konsep belum detail. Selain itu, beberapa hal masih dapat dicatat sebagai kekurangan buku ini. Dengan begitu, dalam cetakannya di masa mendatang, buku ini harus direvisi demi perbaikan yang menambah manfaat dan memuaskan seluruh pembaca.
Akhirnya, ungkapan bijaksana mengungkapkan historia magistra vitae. Sejarah adalah guru kehidupan. Lalu mendiang Ir. Soekarno berujar, “Jangan sekali-kali meninggalkan sejarah (jasmerah)!” Maka dalam konteksnya yang general, izinkanlah buku ini mengingatkan bahwa historia magistra vitae dan jasmerah!
