MEDIA cetak yang terbit setiap hari, tentu memberikan kolom khusus untuk peserta didik. Mereka memberikan ruang seluas-luasnya untuk siswa mengaktualisasi ide serta imajinasinya dalam bentuk tulisan (puisi, cerita, reportase, dan artikel).
Begitu pun lomba penulisan siswa berupa puisi, cerita pendek, artikel, dan karya tulis ilmiah yang menjadi event rutin lembaga yang inten dalam penulisan. Pada titik ini, pertaruhan pemahaman dan aktualisasi siswa mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia menjadi tugas yang diemban oleh guru bersangkutan.
Pencerahan Jurnalistik
Menggairahkan siswa menulis merupakan spirit untuk mengembangkan bakat minat peserta didik dalam tulis-menulis. Untuk mengembangkannya, pihak sekolah bisa menghadirkan penulis lepas, wartawan ataupun praktisi pers. Tentu dengan kehadiran mereka yang akan memberikan pencerahan jurnalistik.
Praktiknya, siswa yang tidak mengerjakan PR, berangkat telat ataupun membolos diberi tugas menulis. Guru mempunyai target dalam waktu setahun (dua semester). Siswa yang berhasil menjebol baik media maupun memenangi lomba, karyanya dipajang di kelas, majalah dinding, dan diumumkan saat upacara. Hal itu akan menggugah semangat siswa lain. Selain itu, sekolah memberikan penghargaan berupa piagam dan uang pembinaan. (75)
